He’s portrayed artists such Ray Charles, Miles Davis, Ahmad Jamal, BB King, Michel Legrand, Mary Higgins Clark, Julia Miguenes, Daryl Cowl or Michel Galabru… And when you look at his pictures of the Lido backstage you find the famous of Paris in a bottle of Champagne!
With each shoot, he found the way to make his models feel good and thus managed to catch in one click the essence of their spirit. Usually, the pictures are showing the outside image of a person but with Beneich pictures’ the inside surfaces with an absolute evidence. There’s no way to lie to his camera, this teddy-bear of a man is so sweet, he looks with such tenderness at his model, that you can be certain that his picture of you is going to be your favorite.
During a shooting, he asks the person to think about “good sex” to get the twinkles of perfect pleasure in the eyes. He makes you laugh, relax and thereby forget he is going to catch your soul in the deepest part of your heart. He tackles lighting with utter rigor because it’s the key point to unveil in the emotion he wants to show as a revelation of a unique human being in all his beauty and self-confidence.
